Emergency Captains and Vice Captains Meeting

With the command having been sent out to all the Squads, Xion made his way from out of his back office, down into the main meeting area. He still couldn't shake the awful feeling he felt deep in his stomach. The worst part of this was, Xion's gut was often a clear indicator of trouble for the vetted Shinigami and had often saved his life in the past. Knowing he would need to be frank with the Captains and Vice Captains he mentally prepared himself for how he planned to get the Akaibu back.

" We have to do it...damn..." He said to himself as he took his normal position in the front and center of the room. While making his way, he managed to hang put away his squad zero jacket and replaced it with his normal Captain Commander's Hoari. He would now wait for the other captains to make their way in before he would explain everything.

He recived the order, and sighed. It must be bad if it's so sudden. He didn't want to go, but that didn't mean shit. He left his drinks at the barracks, and grabbed his book. He felt as though this meeting may or may not take a long ass time. He made sure he had his Haori on, and did his hair in a presentable way. He also did something he rarely did lately, and grabbed the bag he kept his mask in.

He would then leave the 2nd squad barracks. He would move about through the shadows, making sure no one saw his mask. It was a old habit by now, and he didn't think anyone cared about it. It took him about 5 minutes moving stealthily through the SS to get there, but he wasn't late. He entered through the front door with a 'smile' on his face.

It was supposed to be her day off. As such, Captain Lanying Baozhai had been in her secret back room in the 11th division barracks, suntanning in the nude, when she had discovered that a hell butterfly had found it's way to her to relay a message that there was an emergency captains meeting about to take place. if she would have been able to show emotion, she would have been upset. She was. But instead of putting up a fight, she dressed herself in her customized shihauksho and put on her pristine haori, a trait that was uncommon for someone of her status.

She left the barracks and headed in the direction of the 1st division. She was required to have a check-in there anyways, so if this meeting was for nothing, as they usually were, she could kill two birds with one stone. So, here she walked. Heading down the Senzaikyu towards the 1st division barracks. On such a lovely day too. She looked up a little and got lost in thought.

The last time there was a captains meeting like this, there was a war declaration. Oh how Lanying hoped that wasn't the case. She disliked war.

This signified something of grave importance. Yukari dressed herself. It wasn't quite too early in the day, but the veteran shinigami failed to have donned her usual garbs for a public scene, and instead retained her sleeping gown which was normally used for.. well, sleep.

Moments prior, a hell butterfly had made its way into Yukari's quarters. The captain found herself sitting in front of a table, completing forms and paperwork when it presented itself. The message was clear, concise and devoid of quantity. The formalities brought in these messages were still in place, but the message itself held no additional statements necessary; now that was something to worry about. It certainly wasn't too rare, but the simple abruptness of it was unprecedented. She held no former knowledge on the sending of the butterfly, and the meeting it called for wasn't on the usual dates.

Thus, the woman grabbed her coat and wore her top and bottoms, skimpy as they may have been, and made her way out the doors of the Thirteenth Division Barracks, but not before slipping the cold blade that was her Zanpakuto into the sleeve of her coat; that, and put on the long boots that generally hugged her calves.

Yukari took little time in these preparations, and made her way to the 1st Division Headquarters with haste. Speed was something not of her forte, but stamina and endurance was. So despite the long journey from her own division's quarters to her revered 'Sensei', the Blue Moon Reaper found herself entering the designated room first, among the rest of the captains. She had retained a relatively fast pace, though nothing compared to some of the other captains. But combined with the maintained speed and her hasteful preparation, it wasn't to difficult of a feat to believe.

Along the way, her mind was practically racing with thoughts. The last time such an abrupt meeting was called together was the start of an all out war, reducing the Gotei and their sworn enemies to a putrid state. Surely the Captain Commander must be troubled to do such a thing. From what Yukari could gather in her long years spent with him was that he took manners such as these rather seriously; however, what worried her most wasn't the fact that the meeting my present devastating news, or something of the sort. Rather, she worried about the wellbeing of the man she called 'Sensei'. She imagined his current state to be nothing to worry about physically, but his mind must be faring far less well than his exterior.

After these thoughts had run their coarse, she finally entered the 1st Division. Normally she would feel nostalgic and reminisce about the old memories she had developed within these walls, plentiful as they may be; this wasn't a normal situation. She found no time to look back upon the memories. Yukari could easily conclude that the matters at hand were urgent, and so her thoughts found themselves dedicated to the situations that might present themselves.

Opening and walking through the doors leading to the room, she found Xion standing astute, in the standard Captain Commander's Haori and shinigami uniform, things she respected but disliked donning herself. Her face hinted worry, but only subtly. She would simply greet him respectively and formerly, before sitting in the designated spot of the Thirteenth Division Captain, ready to listen to the news he would soon convey.

¨Greetings, Sensei.¨

Arius had been doing his (and his captain's) paperwork when he received the notice for an emergency meeting. As he had been a 3rd Seat back when the last one of this kind was held, he was aware of how serious it was, and the ramifications it could possibly hold for the Soul Society as a whole. He dearly hoped that nothing bad would come from this meeting, but he knew that was probably wishful thinking.

Departing from the 10th Division barracks, he made his way quickly over to the 1st Division, his Lieutenant badge secured to his left forearm. Walking in the door, he noticed he had arrived ahead of several others, including Azrael-taicho. He mentally rolled his eyes; trust his captain to arrive late to an important meeting. He nodded in greeting to the captains there, taking his place behind Azrael's assigned spot.

A emergent notice for a meeting came into the hands of Kazou as he was half way working on paperwork. With a sigh he stopped and readied himself for the meeting though he was ready to go to the meeting he felt half hearten to leave the paperwork behind quickly grabbing the file of the paperwork he headed out of his barracks while walking to the meeting he was working on the paperwork at the same time. Once arrive at the location he closed the file and look around to see his comrades standing around, without making eye contact with them he squired to his spot and waited to hear what this meeting was about while he continued to peek at the paperwork.

Rioji woke up, slightly hung over. He felt a small nudge and it was a random squad 11 officer. He said "Umm.. Sir? There is a emergency meeting at the Division 1 headquarters." Rioji quickly stood up and said "Really? Thanks for telling me, now get out please." The officer left, and Rioji filled up his bottle attached to him up with his best sake then started running towards the Division 1 Headquarters. He got there, walked in and sat down saying "I apologize for my absence.. I'll try so it doesn't happen again."

The hell butterfly would reach Alexander R. Kazura while he was in the middle of a meeting with a few of his seated officers, receiving reports on the status of the Kido Division of which he was Captain. This was an unofficial name of course, being used simply to refer to the Fifth Division and the Kido Corps as the singular body they had become rather than as the two individual organizations they had once been. When Kazura noticed the messenger, he called a halt to the meeting to offer a hand for it to land on.

Upon receiving the message, the Captain visibly became somewhat...bothered. Calling an early dismissal to the meeting, Alexander stood and left his office, where the meeting had been taking place. The reason for discomfort at the hell butterfly's message was unclear to his subordinates, as the Captain neglected to inform them of what was occurring. The reason however, would be fairly obvious to any who received the same message: the last time a meeting such as this had been called, it had been the beginning of the Blue Moon War, an event that cost Captains their lives and that had wreaked untold havoc across the Soul Society. These meetings were not to be taken lightly by any means.

The Captain of Division Five walked into the barracks of the First Division, his haori displaying the symbol of the Kido Corps on the chest area and the symbol of the Fifth Division on the back. Across the Captain's back were the twin blades that were his Zanpakuto in its sealed form, and across his lips rested a light frown. After bowing lightly to the Captain Commander and nodding in general to his fellow Captains, Alexander made his way to his designated place to be during these meetings and waited for Miyamoto Xion to begin.

Dameon had taken off the moment he had received the hell butterfly dropping all of his prior duties and leaving them with the rest of the seventh division to accomplish. It was a little unusual to him to be summoned in a mass gathering to the captain commander. His attire was pristine as ever looking extremely formal and wearing his captain outfit and haori with the utmost respect and honor. It was because of his respect, intelligence, and dedication to authority that had led him to not only become a captain but to also have been offered nobility. Though each time he was offered of such highly established titles of nobility he had turned them down out of respect for his late wife. He had arrived as quickly as he could with his division being so far away. He walked in standing upright and not taking the time to glance at the other captains as he walked forward and bowed to the captain commander and moved off to his place amongst the crowd.

He stood there eyes trained to the captain commander as he awaited the news that they were to receive with the meeting. He knew such a thing would have to be extremely important for all the captains to gather in one place. Usually things didn’t happen as such and a couple captains were left away from the meeting as a precaution for any danger that could occur though extremely rare. He didn’t place any attention on the other captains in the room knowing this wasn’t about any of them even though he wouldn’t have met the majority of them, but they would know about him and how he had come into the title of seventh division captain.

Carlotta had a sour look of her face as she walked into the division one barracks. She had been summoned on one of the few days she didn't have any paperwork to handle. But, seeing as it was a direct order from Xion, she had no choice but to go. She walked into the room and nodded at all the captains and went to her spot, behind her own captain. Looking around, she saw that it was fairly empty, an odd thing if this meeting was so important. She would be the first to voice her opinion.

"Ok, if this meeting is so damn important, why are there so many people missing?"

She could see that the room was less than half full. There were only 7 of the 13 captains here, and 2 of the 13 lieutenants, including herself, and she was damn lazy, so if she had to be here, she saw no need for the others to be late.

Its early morning back at the 10th division barracks, Azrial has just awakened from a deep sleep after numerous training regiments that caused him to be beyond fatigued. As he stood up from his cot, he noticed his vice captain is no where to be seen and is wondering where he vanished off too, usually around this hour Arius is nose deep in his paper work.

"Where the hell is that book worm? Heh must be heading the library to take a break from all of my work, wouldn't shock me. Oh well time to go back to sleep i suppose."

Suddenly a hell butterfly flew from the front door of the barracks into Azrials sleeping quarters. At that moment he knows what this means, hasn't seen this since the prelude of the last war. He immediately got dressed in his traditional leather jacket and white kimono and rushed as fast as he can towards the Division One headquarters.

Azrial finally arrived, fashionably late like usual to any event, seeing a half empty room so he thought to him self he is in the clear for his tardiness. He immediately spot his vice captain sitting behind his reserved spot. He nodded towards Arius, trying to hide his embarrassment that he was late to such an important meeting. As he is sitting he notices that everyone has this very concerning look at their faces. He can only sit here to just try and not fall back asleep.

Kamiko had been patrolling the inner Eastern Rukongai as she did every so often since the war when she had noticed the Hell Butterfly. Her presence had been requested in the Senzaikyu for an emergency meeting. She had felt a chill run down her spine as she questioned why they even cared if she was there. She hastily sprinted towards the center of the Seireitei. By the time she had made it to the meeting hall, she was panting, sweating, and her heart was threatening to beat out of her chest from both her nervousness and her exertion. She peaked into the room shyly before actually entering it. The room was full of enough familiar faces for Kamiko to get an idea of what was coming on. Even ignoring the unfamiliar faces, she could see that this was a meeting of Captains and Lieutenants. Some of them weren't present at the moment though, such as the non-existent Lieutenant of the Seventh Division. Replacing him would be Kamiko Kago of course. As she made her way towards her Captain with a bowed head, her eye darted around the room, but always seemed to be drawn towards the same blue haired girl.

Taraboro Kinko, the captain of the third division, heard a noise, similar to that of a ringing bell. He stood up from his chair, leaving the piles of paper on his desk as the Hell Butterfly came flapping gracefully through the open window. This was one of the few moments he was glad to have left it open. The butterfly slowly descended as Kinko extended his hand, providing it with a sort of Landing Platform. "A meeting? he exclaimed, placing on his captain's haori, lifting his hand as the Black Butterfly flew up with the same grace it had when it came in.

As he walked, his pace increasing steadily as he did so, he began to wonder what this meeting may be about. He shrugged, not knowing the answer, thinking that attending was the best way to find out. He arrived at the location, tapping gently on the door as if to alert everyone before opening it, bowing to the Captains and Vice-captains already there.

"Hello there, my friends."

The day had been busy, come morning Aoi had already taken a team out to the human plains busy with the repairs. The recent attacks a few months ago had left the material plains unstable and uneasy. As soon as she had seen to the defence of Seireitei itself, Aoi moved personally to seal the larger rips in space. The smaller rips her divisions could handle and Aoi had returned to Seireitei expecting a quiet afternoon with perhaps a bit of paper work.

However her return was only met with a hell butterfly. Perching upon her left shoulder as it touched shifts with the one she had used to enter the human world. An emergency captain's meeting. Aoi held the brow of her eyes, anything emergency was never good. Soon her feet had found her to the high walls of the Sotaicho's meeting hall. A quiet and quick entry brought her to her seat. Sumimase, she would whisper out.

Alastair just arrived back from the World of the Living. As soon a he entered the Senkaimom he was met with a hell butterfly. He was told to report to his Division's Headquarters for a meeting. This being very unusual he quickly made his way to the meeting room. He was one of the last few to enter the room. He was slightly confused as to why the sudden meeting was called. He was informed of it so he knew it had to be extremely urgent. In any case he would fix his clothing before his Captain eyes peered onto him. He took his place with the other lieutenants silent greeting each of them with a formal nod. He looked of to the Captain's this would be his first time seeing all of them ans together all that. He was extremely impressed.

The Captain Commander would greet each and every member of the group as they entered and took their positions. As he looked around, he could see the feelings they all harbored of fear and anxiety that even Xion himself was feeling. The Captain Commander had made a terrible mistake and after watching everyone but the Twelfth Squad Captain make an appearance, co-signed his theory. Xion would clear his throat before bowing to them all at the same time, then beginning to speak.

" Thank you all so much for appearing on such short notice...I know you are all concerned for the last time we had a meeting like this...we went to war... Unfortunately, this time would be equally as troubling...." Xion would pause for a moment and allow what he just said to hang in the air. Getting that initial part off his chest felt good and it allowed Xion to be able to better focus at the task at hand.

" Earlier today, I met with the Captain of the twelfth division and took him with me to the King's Dimension....There, while I was dealing with my former squad mates, he ran off with something known as the Akaibu...The Akaibu is one of the King's most highly regarded artifacts and in the wrong hands this could prove to be the end of Soul Society as we know it..." Xion looked around at the faces around him then breathing in deeply then exhaling powerfully.

" With that being said...we will not allow him to do what he pleases...once again I must ask you my comrades...my friends...to help save the Soul Society once again by putting your lives at stake...." Xion would bow his head for an extended moment to the Shinigami around him for he knew the weight of what he was asking, especially right after having lost so many of their own already in the last war.

" Kazou Taichou...I am requesting that you lead an expedition to find the missing captain in Hueco Mundo... Lanying Taichou, Taraboko Taichou, and Dameon Taichou, you are to go along with Kazou Taichou...you are to leave immediately after this meeting once you are prepared..." Xion would bow to the four Captain's before turning his gaze towards Azriel. " Azriel Taichou, you are to make contact with the Bounto and see if they know the location of the missing captain"

"Aoi Taichou, you are to make contact with the Fullbringers just as Azriel is the to make contact with the Bounto...attempt to locate the missing Captain.."

"Xan Taichou, you are to lead the Vice Captains and make contact with the Quincy..."

" Yukari Taichou and Lucius Taichou...your with me...we head to the Dangai to locate the Vizards.."

" The Fourth Squad shall remain here for receiving of any wounded and for the defense of the Seireitei..."

Xion bowed to them all respectfully as he then gave them their last orders. " The use of Lethal Force and Bankai has been Authorized...Earth based captains and Vices, Gentei Kaichou protocol is in effect however, you may simply request a barrier and upon it's erection, you are release and full power free...let's bring back this Captain and the Akaibu and save Soul Society...Dismissed!!!!"

"Captain Commander sir! I request permission from you to go to the Dangai with you. I wish to locate my brother Kazuo sir. As you know he was banished. So I ask, may I please go with you, I will be of much use, and will follow all orders." Rioji spoke somewhat out of turn, but he hoped he would be forgiven. He was nervous but was confident with his power.

Xion turned to face the vice captain, who had spoke after his orders were given out. Xion pondered for a moment before responding to the Vice Captain, " Do you believe you are strong enough to fight against a vizard such as your brother...should you indeed find him? Also, what do you intend to do if you do find him?"

"I have alot of confidence in my fighting ability sir I do believe I can take on a vizard shinigami. If I do find him, I need to talk to him. I need to know what happened that night he was transformed into that hollow shinigami state.. But, depending on his answer I might have to.... cut my own brother down. I wish not for that to happen, but if he disrupts the balance of peace and anarchy by using that power for power hungry intent I can not allow my blood and soul run around like that. I couldnt live with my self.. Hes always been my responsibility since we arrived the Soul Society, we entered the academy together.. I also request of one more thing. If I can convince him to work with us, and give us intel would it ever be possible of a pardon from the banishment... Possibly rejoin the Gotei 13, under very close supervision that is.. I ask now so no surprise questions come up later... I realize the bloodshed you put upon the vizards many many years ago, but as I am an optimistic soul reaper, I hope that you are to sir. Please consider all that I have said, thank you for your time Captain Commander." After Rioji's long speech, he sighed in relief that all of that was off of his chest, plus its is a little bit nervous speaking to one of the greatest shinigami ever to exist. Rioji waited for a response.

Noticing the conversation between her Lieutenant and the Captain Commander, Lanying Baozhai, for the first time in ages, would open her mouth to speak.

"Captain Commander...if it's any consolation...I grant my lieutenant permission...to go with you. He is more than capable...to handle a few vizards...if they get out of hand..."

Her voice was calm and soothing, quiet even, almost to the point of it being inaudible, a complete contrast to her rank and title of Kenpachi. She knew it would shock most people that she spoke, as she was a very quiet girl, preferring to 'speak' using a notepad rather than using her words. However, this was no time to fiddle around with her notepad.

Azrial stands up after Xion has finished his mission brief. He respectfully bows to him, then heads towards the exit. Before he headed out he turns around looks at Arius. He extends his right arm out and rests his right hand on Arius's shoulder. "Careful bookworm. I need you after all, for my paperwork...HA!" with presenting a smug look on his face.

Azrial isn't very good at expressing emotions when it comes to dire situations such as this and relys on sarcasm and witty humor. But if Arius knows Azrial very well, it was his way of showing that hes worried and doesn't anything happen to the only person that, without any doubt in his mind, he can call friend.

Soon after he started to head out the door, after he nodded to the other captains. There is no time to waste.

Dameon would nod his head and turn to exit seeing any further conversation on the topic to be uneventful. They had their orders and he would follow them, little else needed to be done. His hair blew up slightly as if being in a calm breeze. This was because his zanpakuto spirit Fujin, the god of wind was excited to see some action. After all it had been months since he last used his weapon to strike someone down. Though as he was walking away he stopped, his insight turning to a different subject matter as he contemplated everything in his head and then developed a way to put it into words. He turned around to face the captain commander waiting for those who were already talking to pause or at least give him time to speak.

“You are missing some important details sir. Why did you take him to the king’s dimension? Why was the Akaibu Unprotected, if it such a devastating artifact why wasn’t it protected better at least? What does he hope to gain? With all due respect sir I am willing to go to Hueco Mundo any day. Killing is how I got to be captain to begin with but we need more intel and I feel I am the best person suited to do a psychological evaluation and gather intel accordingly. I do have the highest IQ that has been recorded here and given a small task force I can bring back valuable intel to better assign our squads so we are not as split up in the long run,” he stated without a hint of emotion like always. Dameon was just speaking his mind and requesting any additional intel that the captain commander had only lightly went over. That and he felt like he could honestly gather intel quicker in a small unit as opposed to sending their entire force out in every direction.

Xion turned to face the vice captain once again, he allowed his response to sit for a moment before responding on his own. " I will simply say this...if you fail to slay your brother, should he come against you...then you will be removed from your position....there is no saving someone who has become a Vizard and should you fail to slay him, then I will slay him myself whether or not you feel a certain way about it...." Xion's words were stern yet filled with concern. Xion over the years has exterminated many Vizards and was therefore in a very different place mentally then the Vice Captain. " You may come along but remember my words..." Xion would turn to face the Kenpachi and smile as he heard her words. " You actually spoke....it's good to hear your voice...you should speak more often..." He said bowing lightly to the Kenpachi.

After addressing the two members of the 11th squad, he would then address Dameon directly. " You feel you are the most intelligent Shinigami here...you are sadly mistaken. You are far too young and inexperienced to even begin to truly understand your place and that has become blisteringly obvious...You assume the Akaibu was unprotected, you are incorrect and if you ever challenge my orders again...you will find yourself in the maggots nest...you have brought shame upon yourself and your squad and to think you seem to think you have some sort of say or perspective in this...you are sadly mistaken...you will head to Hueco Mundo as you have been ordered by your Captain Commander... or, find yourself in the Maggots Nest...do I make myself clear whelp?..." Xion eyed the boy like a lion eyes it's pray. This very interaction between the two would illuminate the positional difference between them. Xion was more then offended by the young Captain's words yet after allowing his anger to flare up for a moment, he returned to his calm demeanor. " Let me ask you something...do you truly believe that Lions are concerned with the thoughts and opinions of sheep?.....You will learn your place this day I assure you...you are dismissed...this will not happen again I assure you for if it does you are now aware of the consequences..."

Rioji was very angry. He tried his best not to show it while he replied "Yes sir Captain Commander... Leave it to me. I do not want you to interfere or anyone else to either if I encounter him. I will fight him to the death. If I die, he dies with me. I will leave all my personal belongings to Lucius Lorendo..." It was hard to get that out of his mouth. He didn't want to kill his brother, at all... He wished there could be a compromise but the Captain Commander's word was final. Rioji replied "I request this and would appreciate it, if I encounter my brother I wish to speak with him alone, or under supervision of Captain Lucius. I need to tell him all the things I never did, then apologize for not protecting him from turning in to a hollowfied shinigami then... I will formally battle him to the death. My brother deserves even that, I realize your opinion of Vizards, but he is my brother I lived and was on the brink of life and death many many times..." Rioji still mad, tried to calm down from his anger. One fact is truly a fact, he would be drinking MUCH more than usual this night. Rioji said "May I be dismissed now, or is there anything else you need to inform us of..?"

“I meant no disrespect captain commander. The vagueness of the assignment has peaked my curiosity. We are going after an artifact that is disastrously powerful, yet we don’t know what it does. If we should find it and it is used against us in such a manner it would only set back our current numbers. You are correct that I lack actual experience comparatively but the tests have proven my IQ is indeed the highest. It doesn’t mean I am better than anyone else but it means I have the capacity to foresee every outcome and weigh the costs with a high level of accuracy. The only thing I am suggesting is to put a focus on gathering intelligence wherever possible and if that information is at least relayed to me I can create a psychological profile on our enemy and why they did this, as well as track them down, and much more if I am given the right intel. Though without me being everywhere I won’t be able to tell if intel is just sitting around hidden in plain sight. Lions may not concern themselves with sheep but they respect an elephant enough to send a whole pride. Again I meant no disrespect and I apologize if I came off as arrogant but I am a tactician and strategist and the more knowledge I have going into an assignment the higher the chance of success not just for me but for everyone on the assignment. If this artifact is as deadly as you say then we can use all the information we can get. I will head to Hueco Mundo without hesitation. It was a pleasure finally meeting you, though I am sure you won’t feel the same,” Dameon stated with a bow as he turned and left through the doors he had entered through to begin with. Before they left he needed to stop by the seventh division barracks and grab a few things. He would meet the others that were tasked with the same mission when they were ready to leave. His concern about the strategy for the mission was put to the side. Sure he had a difference in opinion but that would come naturally to anyone that was more of a free thinker like he was. After all he had become a captain not for the glory or the title but to make changes for the good. If he felt like he couldn’t do that for a single minute he would have given up his title.
