| ~~~Vizard~~~ Name: Merihem Alias: Former - Dai Kidocho (Grand Kido Chief) / Fuku Kidocho (Vice Kido Chief), Current - Shingikai Unmei Age: 1278 Visual Age: Late 20s Gender: Male Reiatsu Color: Merihems Reiatsu manifests itself differently to most others, the color instead being dictated by the technique he is currently using. Casting Kurohitsugi (Black Coffin), for instance, would cause his Reiatsu to be revealed with a dark black glow. Likewise, casting Byakurai (White Lightning) would make his Reiatsu a white / blue hue. Ex-Division: Kido Corps Affiliation: Kyoshinja Rank: Shingikai Unmei - Former Vice Kido Chief --------------------Persona-------------------- Appearance: - Spoiler:
The focal point of Merihems appearance is, but of course, the bright green hair that sits upon his head. Reminiscent of the lush fields of the human world, this unnatural color often gets him noticed. This distinct feature is matched by the eyes that almost pierce through your very being. His petite nose coming to a somewhat pointed tip gives him the flawless ability to look down his nose at people. Often matched with the most perfect of toothy grins. His cheeks thin and his jaw coming to a sharp end, Merihem gives the appearance of the upper class. A rather thin and frail body seems to be what is hidden beneath the his chosen attire, although not to the point of malnourishment. Even with a good bit of ability in his physical technique, his body would certainly not reveal it. Bruising easier than one would expect of his prowess is for certain. There is muscular tone, yet it is only shown once the body is in active use. Standing no taller than 5' 8'', Merihem appears to have unnaturally long limbs given his stature. Particular attention should be paid to his hands, the fingers long and effeminate. Yet they seem oddly controlled, seen rolling items such as coins through them being done with total ease. Hands trained to deceive. The hands of a cutthroat. His attire consists of a black suit, steel toe capped boots and a disturbing number of belts. His hands often wrapped with a brown bandage. Attached to the back of his many belts lies a rather small scabbard, within it a Zanpakuto no bigger than the average dagger. Hidden beneath the blazer of his suit at all times, one could very easily mistake him for nothing more than your every day Joe. Upon his head rests a Fedora hat, wrapped entirely in darkness. A tie, just as dark as the before mentioned hat rests all the way down to the first belt, located at the waist. The second crossing over in the opposite direction. To one side, the chain belt attached to his scabbard. This is a man who takes a great deal of pride in himself, making sure he looks appropriate. Yes, this is a man who certainly looks the part... Personality: Falling prey to the desire of power, Merihem is but an oddity even amongst the slim ranks of the Vizard. Holding within a distinct sense of pride, his actions are very much orientated around 'the greater good'. A man who would happily strike through his own allies heart to take the opponents. What he calls priorities others consider indicative of his malice. After all, fate is but a cruel mistress. It is his role as the Shingikai Unmei. Pushing forward with his ideals, which he considers the fate of the Vizard, Merihem shows a great deal of determination to see his race flourish. It is this determination that defines him. Past events reveal that he is willing to go against what he is told. He is willing to challenge those above him at any time. Much to the dismay of those surrounding him. It is this trait that held him back within the Gotei 13. It is this trait that allows him to push others forward. He firmly believes the views of the Shinigami on his race are but a shallow and outdated view point. In fact, he also believes that no kido should be forbidden. Why hold back the greatest power a Shinigami can reveal? Merely an opinion, but one unacceptable by most standards. However, when it comes to less... Serious situations, Merihem comes across as a rather happy and calm man. Easily making friends with even the most dangerous of enemies, he appears to be a people person at his core. Friendly and welcoming, yet hiding the intent which would be common in someone who uses people to their advantage. Yes, he will be calm and open. He will make people feel the love of a friend. But the second they gain a use, they will fulfill that purpose. That is their destiny, after all. Even when not seen, Merihem is an ever present being in all matters Kyoshinja. Often watching from a distance, he has proven capable of reading a situation accurately at even obscene distances. A trait often self exploited in combat. Noticing even the most subtle of elements allows him to create rather complex and mind boggling plans. Even to the point where he will defend in a certain way to draw an attack to a certain location. From the moment one enters battle with him, they are but another part of his twisted game. To defeat him is to defeat his mind. --------------------History-------------------- History: The Beginning- Spoiler:
The boys awakening to a whole new world was about as eventful as any other. Memories of whom and what he was left his mind the moment he had entered the spiritual resting home of Rukongai. He was integrated into a family, given the name Merihem and given a loving home to grow up in. They were the Kageshima. Numerous Shinigami had been created from within the walls he stood in. And although he was but an outsider, he too felt it his destiny to follow in their footsteps. Something he would aspire to for years to come.
However, it would be his fate that his body was weak. Even taking a normal punch from a weakling would cause him pain and probably knock him to the ground. He was pathetic. Gaining the title of "The Weakest Kageshima" stained his heart with doubt. Having been their for fifty years he was no closer to attaining his goal. Yet it would only be another five before he they came for him. He had given off the faintest hints of Reiatsu and was immediately integrated into a training program. It was quick, sweet. Simple. However, this wasn't your ordinary training program. He didn't take a test of initiation. He did nothing. He was simply taken by four members of various divisions and trained personally.
Why? Because they were friends of his 'fathers'. Merihems persistant weakness was a smudge on their perfect name. But things were odd. It wasn't that he was going to be trained after all. He was going to be beaten. Beneath the very eyes of Seireitei. Something they were too busy to bother with. Perhaps they didn't see. It didn't matter. Merihem took what was coming to him. Beaten to a bloody mess with swift precision and incredible ease. Bones broken and torn flesh smothering his body as he was left to his own devices. It wasn't long after this event a huge burst of Reiatsu tore through Rukongai, accompanied with the scream of an awakened demon.
Days passed, the Shinigami searching for the source of the Reiatsu they had felt previously. Since that moment they hadn't felt anything. And they wouldn't again, until they were alerted of a disturbance at the Kageshima residence. The father who found Merihem so... Distasteful, was now face down in the dirt. Alive but barely. His true potential now revealed, Merihem was taken to Central 46 to have his fate decided. He would recieve training, but only if he spent a single year within the confides of the maggots nest. To survive that would be proof of his abilities enough. Taken immediately, the smirk that would eventually become his trademark grew on his face. It had begun. The Nest- Spoiler:
The Maggots nest. A prison filled with the scum the Shinigami had produced in their time. And here stood a citizen of Rukongai, nothing more than bait for a hungry shark. It wasn't long after the door shut behind him that the darkness engulfed him. He could see nothing. He could hear everything. And he could feel the distinct blows from others. Fists and feet colliding with his body. Breaking him down bit by bit. He was strong by Rukongai standards, but his lack of training was very apparent.
The first few weeks were spent in battles with the criminals of the maggots nest. Often enjoying a good sleep on the nice, cold floor. It wasn't until three months in that he managed to truly give them a run for their money. His first victory coming over a former eighth seat. As time wore on, his victories began to increase. He was often defeated by the higher ups. Yet he had gained the respect of many. During this time he had come to a realization. Power is absolute. His ambitions spurred on by a returned sense of pride, he grew in strength rapidly.
By the ninth month, he could see in the darkness perfectly. A former Lieutenant then took him under her wing, teaching him in the art of Swordsmanship. Something that Merihem appeared to have a rather unnatural talent for. After three months of peace, his strength reached the point where he wasn't bothered by the others any more. And as the year point had passed, the doors opened to him once more. Light filling his eyes for the first time in a year. A painful yet enjoyable experience as he was taken to recieve his Shinigami robes and start his first lessons.
Academy- Spoiler:
Not being one to make a fuss, Merihem held back his true power whilst in the training stage. The first year he was almost noticeably average. The basics of Hakuda, Swordsmanship, Kido and Hoho were all dead central. Even with his weak body he seemed to be more than capable. It wasn't until the second year when oddities were noticed. Kido was a subject many Shinigami didn't understand well enough to use properly, but Merihem was different. He seemed to be more efficient casting Kido than any other Shinigami in the Academy. Even those whom had been there for six years were flabbergasted at his currently unrivaled potency. He had gone from the "Weakest of the Kageshima" to the "Kido Prodigy". Reaching the lower seventies, something they hadn't seen in centuries from someone in the Academy, Merihem was immediately targetted by the Kido Corps. They had made contact, and formed and agreement that he would join them when his time in the academy came to an end.
It came to his third year before he had started to see his Zanpakuto spirit. A demonic manifestation in every sense of the word. It spoke to him, encouraging him to become a Kido Master. He soon learned the name, Onishinkou, and unlocked his Shikai by the end of that year. It was with this mark that he was promoted into the Gotei 13, Kido Corps. Fuku Kidocho- Spoiler:
Merihems talents were spread around the Kido Corps like wildfire. Several members of Division 5 came to him and were somewhat amazed at his abilities. Strong and potent kido even without incantation, something they had trained for years to attain, was already a skill Merihem possessed within a year of leaving the Academy. His progress, even under the guise of a prodigy in his chosen art was nothing less than miraculous. This potency was something that pushed him all the way to the second in command of the Kido Corps after five years. As Fuku Kidocho he had gained the respect and admiration of his peers, but his progress had only just begun.
One hundred years passed. His age estimated to be around one hundred and fifty, Merihem was quickly being considered for the title of Kidoshu Soshi (Kido Corps Commander). However, this consideration was soon to be cut short. Merihem had developed a reputation of sorts as being a bit of rebel. It was common knowledge that he was seeking to lift the ban on Forbidden Kido. His desire for the Shinigami to become more dominant was apparent for all to see. He continually persisted, harassing Central 46 to no end. Yes, the Fuku Kidosho was pushing his luck. But his ideals were noted, and his mentality would ensure that he would never see a higher position of power than he had already attained. He was dangerous. It was around this time that he was placed under watch. Dai Kidosho- Spoiler:
Three hundred years passed like they were nothing. No, nothing more than a blur. Merihem had been constantly training, and attained his Bankai. He was as close to a Captain as possible without actually being a Captain. He was forbidden after all. Held back by the fear he inspired. Once again appearing before Central 46, his case was pleaded for perhaps the four hundredth time. He wouldn't be held back any longer. They denied his request of course, but that meant very little. In his rage he fired a high level Kido towards those whom persisted to push him back. Thankfully, the current commander of the Kido Corps managed to stop the attack. But not without cost.
As his Kido temporarily broke his commander, Merihem was sentenced to one hundred years in the Maggots nest. A punishment that provoked his anger all the more as he spat in the face of his commander. Noting that he was above him in every way as he was escorted by a group of Captain, Merihem was once again placed in the place that caused him to become what he was.
The one hundred years passed with haste, nothing really happening to him other than being afflicted by boredom. On his release he was granted the title of Dai Kidosho. His leader had admitted that he was a stronger Kido Practitioner, something that took many by surprise. But only for a short while. Because this title wasn't something he would hold onto for long. For soon, his destiny would be decided by the cruel mistress of fate. The Thousand Year Slumber- Spoiler:
Another hundred years had passed, Merihem proving himself a true thorn in the side of Seireitei. He had grown truly disrespectful of authority during his time in the maggots nest, a trait that started to get under the nose of even the most level headed Captain. With almost sadistic joy he continually opposed the will of his leaders, doing whatever it was he felt was correct. He was out of control, and had to be tamed. On a whim, the Omnisukido decided to take him along with them for one of their missions. The theory being that if he saw another side of the world his attitude may change. Nothing did.
He witnessed the death of his allies. One by one they were picked off by an Arrancar making Japan his play thing. Devastation being the only thing left in his wake. Merihem was soon the only man left standing, even if it was just barely. He wa effectively ripped apart. The number two on the beasts neck surely meaning something. His bones broken, his muscles torn, Merihem pulled out all the stops in his final action. Being stabbed through the hand, a mark that has stayed with him to his very day, Merihem trapped his opponent in the fully powered black coffin.
As the opponent turned to nothing and Merihem fell to the ground, the world around him seemed to fade away. Everything disappeared as he was chosen to rise. Entering into a deep sleep, his mind flashed with images of the past. Images he had never seen before. The purge. The death and destruction of those whom had attained a higher power, due to the fear of the Shinigami. An old man witnessing the death of his people as he disappeared from the world. He then see what happened further back. The Goddess of Chaos, an image so clear he could almost touch it. He see the birth of the Vizard Strain. He witnessed the gifts bestowed upon them.
As time wore on he began to see more. Things he couldn't quite understand. He could almost feel he pain of the created Vizard. Their battles with the inner hollow ranging from dramatic to over in moments. He had also seen their deaths. The final moments before their mask was destroyed forever. Yet eventually he had awoken, but not to the real world, instead returning to the dark gloomy mansion that was within his soul.
Stood before him was an entirely new figure. Very pale. Almost his spitting image except the obvious skin discoloration and funky eyes. He began to speak, but Merihem had seen this time and time again. With his Shikai at the ready, he immediately stabbed his double in the eye. Releasing a Kido from within his very skull. Merihem was the king of his domain, nobody would claim what was rightfully his. The Awakening- Spoiler:
Now in the present day, Merihem awoken as a mask shattered from his face. Pain erupting through him as he shot up for the first time in a near thousand years. Within the Dangai world, he had no idea how he had got there. But he had become aware of what he had now become. He was one of the masked army, a member of the oppressed. Wandering around this new world, he quickly realized that he had been given a rather unique room. Almost as if he was being kept safe for a purpose. Coming from within this room with an long unused body was somewhat challenging, yet Merihem still found himself stood face to face with whom he assumed was his new leader.
Presumed dead by Soul Society, Merihem has been awakened for a very short time. No longer than six months. His power now even greater than when he was in the Gotei 13, Merihem seeks to push his new race to the top of the food chain. To prove they are the strongest. To defile the weak who stand against them.
