(OOC: Sorry for the bad entrance.)

Taraboro Kinko, captain of the Third Division, sat still on the flat ground, his eyes closed in some form of meditation, preparing him for the upcoming battle. A soft breeze blew, flinging leaves into the air like audience for the fight. Well, it was not a fight, rather, a training session. Either way, he would put his heart and soul into the match, as a way of becoming more powerful. The breeze grew stronger as he awaited his foe. He had earlier challenged Aoi Hirae, the Captain of the Ninth division, whom he had encounter in the Soul Society. He knew that, as a fellow captain, Aoi was powerful, and the battle would be incredibly difficult.

Her usual day of organizing the division, seeing to paperwork and maintaining barriers took a curve. For some strange reason the newly appointed captain of the third division had challenged her to a duel of sorts. It came to a surprise to Aoi who had been inside her office dealing with paperwork with her officers. She had been in a sorry state, wearing a brown and white checkered pyjama bottoms and a white tank top. Her hands clutching a hot cup of tea and her hair messy in a pony tail. Aoi and her officers had been spending sleepless nights with paperwork and the strange captain walked in and challenged her then walked out. Her eyes had been wide then, clutching at her cup of tea and slouched from fatigue. Surely he was crazy.

Strange as it was Aoi found herself in an open training field. In a field of low cut grass that stretched far and wide. The field was flat not a single tree visible but the occasional cloud provided patches of moving shades. Her officers thought it was a good idea for their captain to get some sun and a break from the paperwork. Clearly they never saw a Captain's duel with another if they thought that it would count as a break. Yet she was there, Having showered and her hair lose, she wore her Shinigami robes, the standard Gi and Hakama with her topside being white. Her Haori was not with her and her Zanpakuto kept on left hip, carefully kept in place by a black Himo.

She stood 3 meters away from the Sanbantai Taicho. He was young, but it was not rare. Aoi herself had been a Captain more than century earlier than he had. The Sanbantai Taicho she never met him other than his appointment ceremony. Even then it was at a distance. This would be the first time she saw him face to face. "Hajime Kinko-san." Her soft pink lips would say. It was his challenge and he would have the start.

Hearing feint footsteps, Taraboro opened his eyes, and saw a woman walking towards him, speaking words to him. The captain of squad nine, no doubt. As her words came to his ears softly, he stood up, lifting up his black Katana and strapping it to his waist, his sandy yellow hair blown back by the breeze. His head tilted up, looking at the captain for a moment.

"Ah hello there Captain, He would say to her soon enough, after completely finishing strapping his Katana, "It's great that you came, It's always good to have a bit of training, do you not agree?

He waited, wondering what kind of combat style this woman used, and how hard the battle would be. After all, all captains were powerful, so any two of them engaging in combat would be a spectacular battle to behold, but a destructive one too. He would have to limit his strength as to not permanently damage the arena which other shinigami may use after him. It would no doubt be difficult, but they both had a chance of victory.

"So, you would like me to begin, captain? Very well."

Taraboro extended his right arm, pointing at the woman, his palm open and charging a red ball of reiatsu. This Kido would probably not deal much damage to a captain, but it would serve as a good distraction. Taraboro put little force into his first attack as usual, to get warmed up.

"Hado Number 31: Shakkaho!

The kido traveled at a high speed towards the captain.

So it began. With the extension of the arm and the open palm it had started. Any experienced practioner of the demon arts would spot out the attack. It came in the form of the destructive arts, the basketball sized red ball of explosive fire. It shot past Aoi over her head towards the left. It was an easy dodge, taking on a lower stance as she took 2 fast steps. It was not Shunpo or commonly known as shunpo, rather it was simply the light footsteps of a master swordsman. The gap of 3 meters would be covered instantly, Aoi rising from her lowered position as she fast drew the blade on her left. It was a Quickdraw technique, achieved by master swordsmen. It required both the perfect timing, speed, distance and power in order to succeed. It was an impractical method of fighting but Aoi made it practical.

How fast would she set the pace of the fight? Aoi had no intention of accommodating and controlling herself for the newly appointed captain. If he was a captain then he would at the very least be able to handle what was to come next. Her left hand had held onto her sheathe while her right hand had been holding the base of the hilt. The draw would begin with her right hand as only a measly meter separating the two. Her right hand would swing a slash from his right waist and all the way through his left shoulder. However it was a feint draw.

There were reasons for the close distance of a single meter which was not completely ideal for a long Katana such as Aoi's. A diagonal slash from bottom up would have either been poor or severe the captain in two. Yet it was a feint. Her right hand would have appeared to execute the slash but when the blade was partially drawn her right hand let go, freely flying with an empty hand. It had been her left hand who took upon the hilt as soon as the right hand had left, continuing the slash without a skipped beat. With the blade out of the lodge of the sheathe there was no need for the left hand to hold onto the sheathe. The Quickdraw was held in a reverse grip and only required Aoi to lift her arm up and bend it. The real slash would target the 3rd division captain's right shoulder. The reason for the close distance was for 2 reasons. The upward slash was not penalized by a close distance and even if the captain moved backwards would suffer at the quick draw.

So, the battle began. He had prepared himself, and thus was ready for the captain, despite her formidable speed and power. As she moved towards him, her sword being drawn, Taraboro placed his hand on his sheath, drawing his sword three quarters of the way before disappearing, using a Flash-step. He reappeared instantly behind the Captain, his sword already drawn, and in mid-slash motion, heading vertically towards the woman's right shoulder.

He stayed about a meter away, so enough of the blade would hit her, yet he could still move if anything were to happen.

ooc: In the future it will be good to note that Shunpo is a high speed movement and not an instant change in position. It would be good to specify a path you take especially if it is around objects or people. You move behind me but how? I could say you moved forward in order to get behind me and hence you would have been in the path of my blade. However this time I will simply assume you took a safe path around me.

IC:

A bit disappointing. Though it was the correct choice to move away Aoi felt that the slow movement speed would have been penalized. Perhaps she had spent too much time in the office, her sword skill appeared to be a little off. For an individual slow as Taraboro to simply evade by moving around her. But it told Aoi the type of man he was.

"Too-slow, apologies but I'll be addressing you with ease, Taraboro-kun." Initially she had called him Kinko-san giving him the respect as he too was a captain. However something changed her mind, referring to him now not only by his first name but also as kun.

Indeed the man was too slow, Aoi's blade held in a reverse grip, already brought back pre-maturely from the quick draw. Instead the blade would be pulled back, the blade's point dangerously hovering an inch away from his neck. She would have caught him in his high guard, arms held high above his head in order to bring down the strike. Her head would turn towards her left, facing sideways at Taraboro. If this was all that he could offer Aoi was disappointed at the new cut for Captains.

Aoi did not need to move from her position the blade pointing backwards at Taraboro, for one his kidou and shunpo were around the levels of an officer. Some would say it was sub-par but how would his swordsmanship fair? A challenge it was Aoi had a feeling it would soon turn out to be a baby sitting.
