The Blood Lord of the Bounts had not long ago ended a confrontation with the Primera Espada of Hueco Mundo, a battle that had ended in a draw as both combatants had noticed that the Great Wall of China had begun to literally crumble under their feet.  In hindsight, the several deep cracks along the Wall were inevitable, as both combatants had been high-level fighters releasing extreme amounts of reiatsu.  Zanmato was just surprised that the damage did not run deeper.  

After the battle, he had gone to collect the Bounts that had come with him for his inspection and had continued the journey along the Great Wall, being told once more of the relatively peaceful area that was this segment of the Wall.  Aside from the Primera's appearance, there had not been a Hollow sighting in some time.  When the Blood Lord asked about Shinigami sightings along the Wall, the Wraith replied that the appearances of the reapers had been negligible.  

At that point, Zanmato said:  "Indeed?  Then what, pray tell, is this distinctly Shinigami-type spiritual pressure that I am feeling?"  At that moment, the Wraith went decidedly pale before the Blood Lord clapped him on the shoulder.  "Relax yourself.  Take whatever Bounts are nearby and retreat to a safe distance again.  I'll go see what our esteemed guest desires."  At that, the Wraith disappeared to go see to Zanmato's command.  

In the meantime, the Blood Lord began to walk down the length of the wall in the direction of the Shinigami.  "First an Espada, now a Shinigami Captain.  You are certainly popular today."  The Blood Lord could hear Giftspinne's voice as the spider momentarily poked its head up from beneath the ground.  "Indeed I am, Giftspinne.  It's also true however, that Shinigami go where Hollow can be found, and I just fought the strongest one.  It's only fair to assume that this Shinigami is here for Gabriel, not for me.  I hope they won't be too disappointed."  That said, Zanmato would keep walking until he met up with the Shinigami, who hopefully would not attack him on sight.

As Kazou felt a strong amount of spiritual pressure up further then him, still unsure on what went on here he continued to look around cautiously as he walked to the point of origin the spiritual pressure was coming from. Feeling himself get closer to the source he could pick up it was coming closer to him even, suddenly a light gust came across wall blowing his hair into his eyes. Taking his index finger he gracefully guided the hair out of his eye. Once removed he could get a clear look of the area around him to his surprise there was a man standing across from him, about ten feet away. Not having the best eye sight he tried to get a better look at the man by taking to steps forward. "Hello there Sir" he said calmly.

The walk did not last long and at the end of it there was walking towards him a Shinigami, a Captain-class if he was not mistaken to judge by the white haori that billowed slightly in the breeze that was a near-permanent feature of the Great Wall. Rather surprisingly enough, the Shinigami was not apparently hostile, choosing to speak rather than immediately draw his sword. This was rather unlike Zanmato's typical Shinigami encounter, which mostly began with an already drawn Zanpakuto and a large amount of yelling predominantly done not by the Blood Lord. Because the Shinigami was for the moment choosing speech over sword, Zanmato decided to reciprocate. "Good afternoon, Captain." At this point, the Shinigami had closed the distance between them somewhat, causing the Blood Lord to raise an eyebrow slightly. "I do not believe that we are acquainted, Shinigami. What is your name and what brings you to the Wall on this fine afternoon?" Zanmato's tone was calm and polite, as it would likely remain unless hostilities were entered upon.
