Appearance: Rioji Shin's height is 6' 1'', he weighs 175 pounds, and his skin tone is one of a Caucasian. He has muscles but aren't visible through a shirt, as in they don't bulge. They will if he isn't wearing a shirt or has a tight shirt on. Rioji is well fit, not to much body fat in all. His hands are a decent size little bigger than the average I'd say. His legs are muscular and sleek. Not a lot of body hair. And yes he has a six pack, he works out, like a lot.
Now to the Hair/Head. He has dark black hair during the winter, and the sun lightens up the color a little bit in the summer. Its not to long or to short. His bangs go down to his eye brows. His hair isn't shaggy its relatively straight. The back is a bit long, so he doesn't have a bowl haircut. He has thin hair. At times he will grow his hair out, happens every once and a while. He does not have any facial hair. If he did it would not be a big beard, something subtle.
Onto the facial/head features. He has dark blue eyes. You can literally see the contrast and depth of his eyes, when face to face. You could easily daze of and stare without realizing it. His nose is a bit small, 2 nostrils obviously, it doesn't stick out to far either. His mouth is maybe an inch, maybe half of an inch away from his nose. His lips aren't at all that big. His ears are normal I guess, not pointy at the top, its round. Ending it off with the face structure all in all. Straight long face face, similar to Ichigo Kurosaki's face. And that is all. End of the description of the shinigami Rioji Shin. Rioji wears a traditional Shinigami kimono just as any other shinigami would. He wears that almost everywhere, unless he is in the world of the living. The only differences between his kimono and others is, its not as baggy. So he can do cleaner and more precise moves without the chance of his blade or something else snagging onto his clothing.The position of his sword sheath is on his left side of his body.
Onto his clothing he would wear in the world of the living. He wears a plain white t-shirt, with some dark faded jeans and a black pair of sneakers. If he has to be in a school he would have a polo like t-shirt for a tie to be around to look a bit more presentable and formal in a school environment. If its cold he will throw on a black or white zip-up sweat shirt. His sleep wear are a pair of sweatpants and a tank top or t-shirt.
As for formal attire, I'll tell you both world of the living and Soul Society. In the world of the living he would wear some nice sleek black dress shoes, going along with some good ol' fancy pants. For a shirt is a simple dress shirt with maybe a vest or jacket to go over it. The dress shirt, vest and/or jacket would all be black, and the tie would be white. In the Soul Society he would wear a custom shinigami kimono. He has a custom sake bottle sling on his shihakusho so he can drink when ever. Besides that nothing to flashy, but its not baggy at all really, and his belt is tied better than he would normally. Its "tighter" to give a more professional tuxedo feel.
This is indeed what Rioji wears and would wear in any situation.
Personality: Rioji is calm but gets angry quite fast. He likes to be alone primarily. He will interact with others, but as said before prefers being alone. He might come of as an asshole, but when you really meet him and talk to him he opens up alot.There are a couple exceptions to his simple calm personality even though he's generally stern most of the time,and is extremely happy when fighting, and is chaotic, but works in order but will do anything for an amazing fight. When he is mad, you can tell, he gets angry and is an ass.
He is more of a leader than a follower. In his young day's he rivaled with his brother to be the leader, but normally commanded the group. He wants revenge for his brother, since he was banned from the SS. He believes hollowfied shinigami can be used normally. And its a good war strategy. And even though it seems like he doesn't care about much, he doesn't like seeing young people hungry or in pain, he experienced alot of it as a kid. So he gives them money whenever he passes by to be nice. He is hard to get, and you really only know him when you are good friends with him. The only people that truly knew him were his friends Shikari and Yokohama and his brother. Most people know but he his an advid drinker and drinks all the time, its easy to tell since he always carries a bottle of sake with him. His favorite thing to do in his freetime besides train his sit in a hot bath and read manga from the world of the living. He has a secret stash in his closet in his room.
LIKES:He likes fighting powerful opponents every once and a while.

History: EARLY SPIRIT LIFE: When Rioji first came into the Soul Society, he met a boy similar to him. All they knew was there first names. They decided they would become brothers under the name of Shin. Both of them stole, and robbed when they were younger so they could eat, and they ended up finding a river and living there for alot of the time, they were in the Soul Society. When wandering they met to young boys around the same spirit age. Yokohama and Shikari. They both were dumb and young like the other 2 Rioji and Kazuo. All four of them got along quite well. All of them built a home on the river and lived there from then on.
While they were living there they were in trouble alot with the locals. During there experimental stage with there spiritual pressure, Rioji and his brother were running through the West Rukon District, and they were running from a crowd of people. Him and his brother had stolen 4 bags of high quality food and sake. They eventually lost them and went over to there house on the river to meet up with there friends, Yokohama and Shikari. Shikari greeted them "Wow! Where did you get all that man!?" Rioji and his brother replied with "We found it in this box, and we took it!" The boys didn't want to worry their friend so they didn't tell them about the crowd of people chasing them. The four boys Rioji, Kazuo, Yokohama, and Shikari ate and drank the expensive good. Drunk Yokohama said "Hey guys, lets do something AWESOME.." Then slowly fell on his ass. All the boys agreed and screamed "YEAH!!"
The boys traveled in the night and found an old shack with and older man in it. The old man was fast asleep while the boys snuck by to the front of the shack and Kazuo whispered "Hey lets draw stuff on his face!" while snickering. The four of them snuck in with a marker and drew mustaches and funny faces ect. all over the man. But they happened to pass out in the mans house! The boys awoke with the old man scrubbing his face off. "YOU DAMN F---ING KIDS!! I'M GONNA GIVE ALL YOU A BEATING TO REMEMBER!" Rioji looked over to his pale smiling brother, they nodded and got up and ran towards the old man and BAM knocked him out cold. Rioji Kazuo Shikari and Yokohama got out of trouble once more.
LATE EARLY SPIRIT LIFE: After most of there immature days, were always practicing sword play, and manipulating their spiritual pressure. They fought and fought. They would fight in public as acts to raise a quick amount of cash, instead of stealing. One day it went to far, and a guard came into the mix and tried to stab Rioji, and Rioji instinctively dodged but
his friend Yokohama was behind him. His friend lay there dead, and Kazuo screamed in horror. It was the first death they have seen. The guard looked guilty and sad. He apologized to the 3 boys and left them money, then later committed seppuku. The boys had a funeral, but instead of burying they let him sail on a raft. They made it so it would eventually sink into the river. The 3 young men weren't the same ever again. Shikari ended up leaving the brothers to pursue work. And again the brothers were alone with each other in the little house on the river.
EARLY SHINIGAMI LIFE: They both decided they wanted to become Shinigami, so they trained even harder and harder. They finally enrolled, and Rioji and Kazuo both got similar grades, but Rioji was a bit better with his Zanpakuto and fighting than his brother. Kazuo wanting to be more powerful decided to train insanely. As Kazuo trained in secret in all of his free time, Rioji continued to fight and trained aswell, but not knowing his brother Kazou secretly admired and envied Rioji's power, he decided to make his brother his rival, and defeat him in battle one day. That day would come. Him and his brother decided to fight.
Rioji said to Kazuo "Hey are you ready my brother!?" While smiling. Kazuo responded with "Well ofcourse! Get ready to LOSE!!" Kazuo ran towards Rioji screaming and struck with a left horizontal slash. Rioji quickly blocked, but took some damage from the force. Rioji struck back and forth, same with Kazuo. Kazuo and Rioji both tired kept fighting. They clashed swords for hours. Rioji came in with immense speed and slash his brother. His brother drop. Rioji said "Its over brother." Kazuo quickly picked himself up whilst bleeding and said "No its *Cough*- not..." "Ha-do 4.. Byakurai!!" As the beam left his finger tips and went through Rioji's shoulder only milliseconds had passed. Rioji fell and said "Goodjob my brother, you have won.. Now heal me heh..." They both passed out and an aid came to them and healed them, then took them to there dorm room.
Eventually the brothers graduated, both with their Shikai. Both of them became seated officers in Squad 11, Rioji 5th and Kazuo 6th. During a training exersice in the world of the living, Rioji and Kazuo were fighting a huge hollow in a forest, and the hollow kept attacking them, and eventually they beat it.. So they thought. While walking back to the group, Kazuo suddenly fell and Rioji looked behind him and saw his brother being pulled and sicked through a hole in the ground, then it closing suddenly. Rioji ran to the group notifying the others of the situation, they all searched the area for Kazuo.
LATE SHINIGAMI LIFE: They found a cave, which lead a Hollowfing Kazuo. His brother Rioji ran to him and Kazuo's hollowfication suddenly stopped, and finished. After Rioji got Kazuo out of the cave, they all walked toward the original area and The hollow they fought earlier came out of no where screaming, and the group quickly destroyed the hollow. Rioji Shin and his brother Kazuo Shin were able to hide Kazuo 's hollowfication for a while until they decided to fight each other, and Kazuo's hollowfication went out of control and the Captain Commander demanded he be killed, but Rioji begged that he would be able to live and Kazuo was allowed to live, but was banned from the Soul Society.
BLUE MOON WAR ARC:During this insane war, Rioji's mind was not in the right, because it would be some of the first battles with out his brother Kazuo. He was completely ruthless, it was the only way to get it off his mind, thus the effects started carving his personality into the viscous fighting spirit he is today. He fought and killed countless amounts of arrancar and hollows during the war. He quickly was ranked up. 5th seat, to 4th seat, to 3rd seat. He killed and killed. he earned his rank as lieutenant after a life or death battle between his greatest opponent.
This arrancar's ability was able to read the memories of past experiences of the person its attacking, and use it to its advantage. It used Rioji's pain against him and nearly killed him. Rioji, covered in blood, and the arrancar barely scratched. The arrancar said to Rioji "Well well.. Wheres old Kazuo now!? Not here to help you up like he did as a kid. He's probably dead now hahahah!!" Rioji stood up with his zanpakuto and screamed "DON'T YOU EVER SAY HIS NAME AGAIN, YOU ARE NOT WORTHY, YOU F-CKING SCUM!!"Rioji took a swig out of his sake bottle. Rioji said "Zetsumei, lend me your strength to wipe this bastard out.."
His zanpakuto started radiating with spirit pressure and he raised him self up. He only had enough energy for one final quick draw attack. "Zetsumei, lets do this. Quick. Draw.." In the blink of an eye, the he was behind the arrancar, and the arrancar split into to yelling "WHY YOU SHOULD HAVE BEEN DEAD BY NOW--" The arrancar faded into dust and ash and the wind blew it away. Rioji told a hell butterfly to grab a squad 4 member to help him be healed. A few weeks after he was healed, Rioji was summoned by the Captain of Squad 11 Lany. The Captain told him "You have shown much strength and power. Prove to me once more of your strength." Rioji replied "I will kill and take place of the current LT! I will get the spot I deserve Captain Lany. Is that sufficient enough?" Lany replied "Do it. Shita Suko, my current LT, fight Rioji Shin.. To the death."
The current LT Shita nodded and pulled his blade out then bowed. Rioji did the same. Rioji whispered "Zetzumei, Release." As his zanpakuto change shape, he speed towards Shita and slashed at him. Shita blocked, but he was struggling. Shita came back with a forward stab and right slash. Rioji was nicked slightly in the arm, and decided to use his legendary move, Quick Draw. Rioji: "Quick, Draw." As he say those words he sheathed his sword and then in the blink of an eye he slashed through Shita. Lany surprised, told Rioji "You have won. You have gained the privilege to become my LT. I expect much from you." Rioji was sent off and he was happy, but didn't celebrate besides downing 3 bottles of sake alone.
CURRENT AND FORWARD SHINIGAMI LIFE: Rioji ended up becoming the second most powerful member on Squad 11 during the moon war and became lieutenant, and has remained at that position since. He would like to take over as captain, but with respect and honor he didn't say it aloud and respected his captain, even though he envied the spot. But in the end Rioji wanted order, and Kazuo wanted to be powerful. Though there personality's aren't much different, they both couldn't live with the same life style together. Kazuo ended up becoming powerful, with his hollowfication, but got banned from the Soul Society. Rioji rarely speaks with his brother since he does not know where he is. Rioji is still lieutenant for Squad 11, and is loyal to the Gotei 13.
