PostSubject: Re: Zanmato vs Mendoza [Winner: Zanmato]   Zanmato vs Mendoza [Winner: Zanmato] Icon_minitimeFri Apr 04, 2014 5:07 pm

Theoretical situation: What if the Blood Lord of the Bounts received word that the Fullbringers had plans to join the Quincy in the Blood War between the races?  What if, seeing no other alternative to keep his people safe, Zanmato had decided that the best way to deal with the threat was to launch a preemptive strike in an attempt to devastate the Fullbringers numbers and kill Mendoza, their leader?

There was a massive battle occurring in the middle of New York City, with spiritual pressures coalescing and forming a mass of energies so intense that buildings were showing visible signs of strain and many lesser Bounts and Fullbringers were having difficulties fighting.  The Bounts had received warning from a trusted source that the Fullbringers might join the war on the side of the Quincy, and the Blood Lord had reacted immediately.  A preemptive strike had been ordered on New York City, the home of the Fullbringers.  A mighty host of Bounts, the largest ever seen, had appeared in the American city and had immediately attacked anyone with the slightest hint of spiritual pressure.  The Fullbringers had of course retaliated.  The ensuing battle was intense and bloody; within a couple of hours, all non-augmented humans in the city were dead or dying from the crossfire if they had not evacuated at the onset.  Buildings were beginning to crumble because of the heavy spiritual pressures and devastating techniques.  Bounts and Fullbringers lay dead throughout the city and the fighting was still continuing with no end in sight.  In the midst of this destruction and carnage, the Blood Lord of the Bounts himself was seeking the leader of the Fullbringers.

At the moment, Zanmato was entering into Central Park, where Mendoza's reiatsu was reported to have been sensed last.  So far, the Bounts and Fullbringers had been engaging in skirmishes across New York City, but apparently the fighting had left this place relatively unscathed.  Having desired to save his strength for Mendoza, Zanmato had thus far evaded combat whenever possible and left combat situations to the Revenants, his personal guards.  Thus he appeared relatively immaculate for being within a battle that covered the skyline of NYC in a haze due to the smoke from various fires across the cityscape.  He was wearing a black silk-like layer of webbing that his Doll covered him with whenever it transformed into Core Form.  He had decided that this was not an event to mess around with, and had come here prepared for battle.  The armor that he wore in Core Form was present, and he already had a sword in hand, though the sword was just as unbloodied as the man himself.  Entering into a clearing in the forest-like Park, Zanmato was allowing his reiatsu to leak out in small bursts, hoping that the leader of the Fullbringers would come to him if he was here.  It was obvious that they would meet sooner or later in this confrontation, so why not allow it to happen sooner and in a setting that would allow them to fight free of the concerns of a more populous battlefield?

The attack on New York was as devastating as he thought it could be. It was true the fullbringers were considering their options to join the blood war, but this attack was drastically uncalled for, even for the Bount. Mendoza hardly had time to assemble the fullbringers into what one could call a "defense" but their numbers were still too small. They had done well,  fending off the city so far. Yet the sheer number of bounts was unimaginable.

Mendoza himself had been directing the majority of the battle,  sending fullbrings into and out of danger zones. As the council members assisted him in this matter,  the fullbringer force was well directed. This was probably the only reason why they had lasted this long without being over run. The high ranking bounts were what was giving Mendoza the most trouble. He had even heard that the Blood Lord was present on the battlefield as well.

The presence of the Bount Leader troubled Mendoza greatly, he would have to confront him directly. He didn't know any fullbrings who could effectively bring the beast down. So it would be left up to him.

Then reports had came in that a massive reiatsu force had been noticed in the surrounding area of central park. Mendoza had to assume it was the Blood Lord. Without a seconds delay, he used his bringer light to journey to the park turned battleground.

It didn't take Mendoza longer than a minute to arrive at the park. It did however take a few minutes to narrow down the location of the reiastu pulses that the Bount was letting out.  As soon as he did. Mendoza used his bringer light to arrive within zanmato's field of vision.

Mendoza saw the man was wearing a strange armor. He had to assume the man had entered a release, though Mendoza thought that bounts used avatars to fight with. Never the less, he wouldn't take his chances. At once, Mendoza activated his fullbring. " fists of fate" he said to himself and barely audible. His reiatsu rose momentarily to accommodate the new release, but then subsided enough to appear calm to the bount.

Mendoza continued toward the Bount until the two were within earshot without raising ones voice, roughly 15 yards away. From here, he could already feel the mans presence sapping the reiatsu from the air.  It was a known fact that a rare few bount had this ability, but Mendoza himself had never experienced it. In fact, this was the first time fighting a Bount. The special ability the Bount possessed was a huge factor to him. Mendoza relied heavily on soul manipulation and he could feel his range of influence diminish. So this Bount already held an advantage. Mendoza wouldn't give him anymore.

"You come where you are not wanted Bount. Last chance to turn back before i serve your dead corpse to your armies." Mendoza spoke with confidence. He had already begun scanning the area for what he could use for battle. There wasn't much,  but enough to provide an interesting fight. He had an idea though in mind, which might be able to turn the tables if he needed it. He then planted his feet into the ground in a powerful stance, ready for the inevitable,  raising his fists at chest level am slightly bend in anticipation for the coming attack. He knew the bount didn't come across half a continent to run away after all.

PostSubject: Re: Zanmato vs Mendoza [Winner: Zanmato]   Zanmato vs Mendoza [Winner: Zanmato] Icon_minitimeSat Apr 05, 2014 5:37 pm

It was fortunate that the thought had occurred to Zanmato to flare his reiatsu as he had done. It had predictably drawn the President of the Fullbringers directly to his location in what had seemed to be mere moments. It could have drawn others, of course, but the Revenants were scouring the city for the higher ranked Fullbringers for the sole purpose of keeping them away from their Blood Lord. No, Zanmato had expected Mendoza, and here the man had come, right on schedule. With a brief flaring of his reiatsu, the Fullbringer entered into a released state, joining the Bount in being fully prepared for battle. After stepping forward, Mendoza broke the silence that was beginning to stretch between the two men. Zanmato merely raised an eyebrow. They both knew that when two people of their relative caliber met on the battlefield, there would be no 'retreating' until a man was broken. By that point of course, the other would not allow an escape.

No, Zanmato's coming here and flaring his reiatsu had been an unspoken challenge to his counterpart, and Mendoza's arrival had been an unspoken acceptance of that challenge. The only way that someone was successfully leaving this forest-like park was to be dragging the corpse of their opponent along behind them. The game was now to ensure that it was the Blood Lord of the Bounts who would be walking. "Perhaps I walk where I am unwanted, but the Fullbringers made plans to enter into a war that was not theirs to fight. This is nothing personal, Mendoza Grant. I am simply doing what is best for my people. By all means, however, I can appreciate that you must now do what you must for yours." True to his words, Zanmato's words were not filled with passionate rage or any true tone other than the calm that was demonstrated in his so far relaxed stance. Not needing to hide his vampiric reiatsu, the Blood Lord was simply allowing it to flow freely, not flaring or suppressing it.

At this close range, Mendoza would see that in this released state, the sclera of Zanmato's eyes turned pitch black, leaving glowing silver irises the only visible color in his eyes. These strange eyes were currently watching Mendoza with the keenness of a hawk, simply waiting for the man to move. Holding his left forearm parallel to the ground, Zanmato concentrated some reishi into that area of his body. The armor responded, producing a small shield, buckler-sized, that attached to his arm but was a separate piece of equipment from his bracers. Holding his sword arm back with the point of the sword pointed at Mendoza, the Blood Lord would wait for his opponent to attack first, rarely ever choosing to begin the attack in personal combat.

PostSubject: Re: Zanmato vs Mendoza [Winner: Zanmato]   Zanmato vs Mendoza [Winner: Zanmato] Icon_minitimeSat Apr 05, 2014 6:41 pm

Mendoza watched the bount intently. His words were meaningless to Mendoza, just a byproduct of formality. They both knew what this was about, eliminating the competition. So today, someone would be eliminated. From what he could tell, the mans armor was capable of creating weapons for him, as the buckler form on the mans body seemingly effortlessly. That meant disarming the man would be pointless. A weapon would always be present.

Immediately after the bount was done speaking, Mendoza began scanning the field for ammunition. He had seen several trees, park benches, street lamps, and other things that could be affected by fullbring.  What he decided on though was a piece of sidewalk. Since it was already segmented, pulling it from the ground could be done relatively unnoticed. It was located roughly 45 feet to the right of them, just located on the edge of his ability thanks to zanmato. Yet he could still fully manipulate the piece of stone.

So as he applied a gradual amount of fullbring on a slab of the sidewalk to pull it silently from the ground, he replied to the bount. " regardless, you bounts are disgusting creatures. To invade a city over just looking into our options? You have no sense of honor. " Mendoza said coldly to zanmato. By now the slab of concrete was fully pulled from the earth. Its 2'x2' area and 2" thick structure would make for a hell of an impact on the bount, especially at how fast Mendoza was going to throw it at the man's head.

He pulled the object with his fullbring power towards zanmato at an incredible speed, going from 0 to 45 mph in a matter of seconds. Yet just long enough for him to continue his speech. He wanted the slab to connect with zanmato the moment the final word left his lips.

"I suppose that makes us the same then." Mendoza finished with the slab inches from the mans face, the flat end parallel with his face for full effect. As soon as he finished speaking and without caring for the slab, he entered bringer light once again. This time he quickly closed the gap to be on zanmato's left side, twisting his upper body to the left before twisting back. His left arm already pulled back and mid strike with his metallic fist thundering towards zanmato's jaw.

As his punch was flying,  Mendoza was already choosing his next object to fullbring. This time a park bench not 20 feet from them. He had already begun ripping it from the ground, pulling the bolts free of the metal but leaving it where it was for now. He needed it for a quick attack later.

PostSubject: Re: Zanmato vs Mendoza [Winner: Zanmato]   Zanmato vs Mendoza [Winner: Zanmato] Icon_minitimeSat Apr 05, 2014 7:17 pm

The smile that Zanmato gave Mendoza was one that could roughly have been translated to: 'are you surprised?'  When he had taken control of the Bounts, Zan had arguably done much to attempt to improve the race from the inside out.  He had even attempted to add a sense of morality to their ranks, however he was not forgetful of the fact that most races were mistrustful of Bounts.  This placed them in the situation of having more enemies than allies and more people who wanted to see them suffer than prosper.  This in turn created several situations wherein little nuances such as honor and 'fair-play' had to be thrown out of the window for the advancement of the Bounts as a whole.  With something as crucial as the Blood War on the line, there could be no mercy or honor except when it benefited Zanmato and his people.  This was nothing to be shamed over, and the Blood Lord's smile exemplified that.

At that moment, Zanmato caught the faintest traces of something moving on his right side, in his peripheral vision. More accurately, he 'saw' it halfway into Mendoza's second sentence, as the parallel edge of the sidewalk with his head placed it slightly into his sight.  The dodge was reflexive, with a few added movements for afterthought.  What Mendoza would see would be the Blood Lord's head being hit by the slab, which occurred just as he was emerging on the Bount's left side.  The Fullbringer would also feel his fist hitting the man's face, an action that occurred within the same second as the slab making contact.  The slab would then keep going however, with 'Zanmato' being revealed to be a doppelganger, the feeling of the blow connecting having been supplied by a piece of web-like cloth.  The real Zanmato would be revealed to be behind Mendoza and slightly to his left, having performed a rare display of Donner, a Dosen technique.  The Blood Lord's movements were simple and left little room for error due to overperformance.  From his position, Zanmato would bring the blade in his hand upwards at a diagonal to the left, attempting to cut Mendoza's back completely open from the man's right hip to left shoulder.  With the slab still going from having attempted to hit his right and Mendoza having come from what had been his left, the Blood Lord wondered if the slab would hit the Fullbringer before he had a chance to tear into him? "Indeed." The one word would be all that Zanmato had time to say with everything occurring at these speeds.

PostSubject: Re: Zanmato vs Mendoza [Winner: Zanmato]   Zanmato vs Mendoza [Winner: Zanmato] Icon_minitimeSat Apr 05, 2014 9:02 pm

As the fight commenced, Mendoza knew things were going to be complicated. As the clone of zanmato evaporated, Mendoza recognized at once where the man had moved to; behind him. It was not an altogether creative move to be sure. Yes it was presented with grace, but it wasn't something mendoza couldn't solve.

Mendoza followed through with his fist, smashing through the slab of concrete with little to no effort involved. The strike had been intended to shatter the mans jaw if not kill him. Mendoza was not a man to hold back.

He then used the momentum of the strike to continue his twist, this time turning completely around to face the bount. By this time, his blade was just inches from his skin. Mendoza did was most couldn't do; he opened the fist meant for zanmato's face and grabbed the blade before it made contact with him, stopping it in place. Due to Mendoza coming downward and zanmato slashing upward, the grab was fairly simple for him. Mendoza's metallic arms were all but clubs ready to hammer his opponent into the ground, so such a move was possible for him as he didn't have to worry about slicing his hands in anyway. It also helped that he didn't have actual "hands".

He then pulled the blade up and out in front him, pulling it to his left. All while he stepped forward with his right foot and slammed his right fist up and beneath the mans chin. It wasn't a natural reaction to release ones weapon, even if it meant taking a strike. The natural response would be to fight the new resistance. But it was entirely possible. Thats why Mendoza still didn't use the bench to attack the bount. He would use it when he was taken off guard. Instead, he uprooted a nearby tree to his right as another precaution. He would use the rather large tree for a special occasion.

PostSubject: Re: Zanmato vs Mendoza [Winner: Zanmato]   Zanmato vs Mendoza [Winner: Zanmato] Icon_minitimeSat Apr 05, 2014 9:40 pm

It was true that it was not a natural reaction to release the weapon in one's hand during battle, regardless of what would occur because of the desire to continue to hold onto the weapon.  However, it was also true that when something is expendable, it was much easier to allow it to be taken away.  Being that Zanmato could produce weapons from his armor with a flick of his will and had lived for two thousand years with that knowledge, he had never allowed the thought to become solid in his mind that he needed to hold onto his sword.  No, he had in fact made it reflexive to release weapons that were no longer useful to him, as made since with an infinite supply.  When Mendoza grabbed the weapon barehanded, the Bount was slightly surprised, yet acted immediately.

He let go of the weapon and took a step back, leaning his neck backwards, thus allowing him to dodge Mendoza's strike that might have broken his neck or at least his jaw.  So, that metallic armature that Mendoza had in place of arms and hands was not necessarily for show.  Nothing overly difficult about that.  After all, Zanmato was not even fighting at full efficiency yet.  Leaping backwards, the Bount took a breath and smiled at his opponent.  "Your metallic arms are supported by reiatsu, aren't they Mendoza? I'll admit, I should have expected that you would be able to perform that feat with metal hands."  The Blood Lord was actually almost chuckling in his words.  So the Fullbringer had some skill, it was to be expected in a fight between two leaders of spiritually enhanced beings that each man had a few tricks up his sleeves.  Fortunately for Zanmato, it was likely that he had several more tricks than Mendoza did.  After all, he had not even started quite yet.

PostSubject: Re: Zanmato vs Mendoza [Winner: Zanmato]   Zanmato vs Mendoza [Winner: Zanmato] Icon_minitimeSun Apr 06, 2014 10:45 pm

Zanmato's leap backwards was to be expected. He figured he wouldn't get THAT lucky with the uppercut to the mans chin. That would have been too easy, especially for the Blood Lord. In fact, he had actually expected another one of his vanishing tricks. He wondered how many of those the man could do exactly in a fight. Until he knew for sure, every attack he would preform had to be taken as if attacking a fake. Thus was the simple adjustment of battle. He knew that the man could make weapons but little else, so far he hadn't even really gone offensive. That bothered Mendoza the most. What was this mans game? Mendoza found that everyone had a game. A pattern, even if the pattern was randomly striking around. Defensive didn't look like his game. True he had a doll, but his current release didn't call for it to be present apparently. So he figured the "release" was the armor. The armor that could create weapons. But he had a good feeling that wasn't its true purpose. If it had been, he would have been more offensive. So the armor did something else, he just couldn't place what. Luckily, the Bount had no idea what his fullbring did either. That and since very little changed during Mendoza's, he probably couldn't tell what his was either. That could be Mendoza's only advantage.

Not even a second after Zanmato landed did Mendoza strike again. He used bringer light once again, this time closing the gap between the two in a fraction of a second. He already had another punch lined up, this time his right arm. The fist was pulled back and ready to be let loose upon Zanmato's left side for a body shot. Mendoza was going to be extremely cautious however. The man was unarmed, but he had no idea the speed that he could create another weapon. So now was the time to use his fullbring on the bench he had been saving. The bench was roughly 4 feet long and he would stand it on its end in the air as he pulled it towards them. Depending on what Zanmato did, he would either hit the Bount with it or simple direct it off to the side. Either way, he would figure out just how fast the bount could use his ability.

As he exited his bringer light he spoke to the man in a grunt while the fist flew in the air. "Catching on, huh bount." He said as he exhaled the air in his lungs to relaxed his body and put all the strength into his right arm attack. He intentionally lied to the bount, but he hoped the cocky response hide the fact that his arms were actually his fullbring. As long as the bount thought it was just reiatsu reinforcement, it worked all the more for him.

The Fullbringer expected a weapon to be used either defensively or in some form of parry or counterattack, but what would actually occur would be much more strange.  Instead of 'growing' another weapon, the Blood Lord would launch himself backward again to avoid the Fullbringer's strike though this time he would also go slightly to the right in order to maximize chances of evasion. This action was taken through entering his Dosen for a moment to maximize the chances of evasion. The Fullbringer might see this motion being quite swift, much swifter than anything that the Blood Lord had displayed thus far.  Landing about five meters away from Mendoza, the Blood Lord would simply dash back towards his opponent barehanded, in the second after he landed to hopefully catch his opponent off guard.

A 'pulsation' would occur from within his armor, and within that second a veritable cloud of black dots would erupt from the armor.  These black dots would be revealed to the observant as 'locusts,' though they seemed to be completely black in coloration.  Within the next second, Zanmato would be invisible within a tornado of the creatures.  By the time he reached Mendoza, the swarm would be 5m3 and circling him in a churning mass.  The Blood Lord still had not constructed a weapon, but at this point the swarm itself was his weapon.  The Blood Lord's dash would occur at a speed that he had most certainly not displayed throughout the battle, this new speed outclassing what he had been displaying rather obviously.  With the swarm moving with him at this new speed, the Blood Lord doubted that Mendoza would be able to avoid the creatures that composed it.  With everything happening at the moment, he did not even have time to tell his opponent, but the battle had just reached its 'serious' phase.  For the past few moments, Zanmato had been attempting to concoct a plan to defeat Mendoza, and this was the beginning of it. Even if this part went south however, there were still at least three back-ups to fall back on.

PostSubject: Re: Zanmato vs Mendoza [Winner: Zanmato]   Zanmato vs Mendoza [Winner: Zanmato] Icon_minitimeTue Apr 08, 2014 9:12 pm

Ooc: as zanmato knows, this post was late for two reason; 1. I needed to know some info on the swarm and 2. I had work dueing the remaining hours.

Mendoza was starting to get aggravated with the bount. This cat and mouse game was getting old. Anger had always played a big part of mendoza's fighting style. He was capable of channeling it in a way that few could, balancing both rage and tranquility in his strikes. The bount would soon feel the full force of his fury. He watched as the bount shot backwards in dosen once more. The act was getting tiresome. Then he saw the man sprout a swarm of something, and resumed his course forward toward mendoza. He would pay dearly for that.

He would try something rather interesting here. As the man moved towards him, mendoza matched him. He lightly pulled his previous attack back but held it in position for another strike. It took a matter of seconds for him to be enveloped in the swarm with the bount. As they touched him, he could feel their affect. He slowly started to feel his energy being drained from him. That wouldn't stop this attack however, even if he did slow down just abit, the punch would still be at full force. Well, as full force as he could due to the parasites in the sky.

He quickly found the bount in the swarm now, as they had not been far from one another in the first place. Mendoza then grabbed the man by the collar of his armor. "Dodge this one!" mendoza said in a rage. He then took the right hand he had been holding back and threw it across his face, hoping to connect with the bounts jaw. He also made sure to keep his body and the bounts at a reasonable distance, he didn't want that weapon regrowing and impaling him after all.

PostSubject: Re: Zanmato vs Mendoza [Winner: Zanmato]   Zanmato vs Mendoza [Winner: Zanmato] Icon_minitimeTue Apr 08, 2014 11:08 pm

The Bount felt the Fullbringer's presence before he saw him, but chose not to move or otherwise do anything about it for a moment. He simply cocked his head to the side when Mendoza attempted to grab him by his armor-collar, and several insects got in the way. In a sense, Mendoza was still holding onto him, but the insects would not allow for direct contact between the Bount and his enemy. Instead they formed a thin layer between the metallic hand and the chitinous armoring. As well, when Mendoza threw his punch, a foot thick block of the creatures materialized between his fist and Zanmato's face.

With the swarm essentially having surrounded the combatants, the time required for them to come to the Blood Lord's aid was minimal. The punch would simply land on the insects and be deflected, as each one carried the armor potential of the Bount himself. Each locust had a 'carapace' that was equal in strength to his armoring, which could easily withstand attacks from a Bankai-level blade in accordance with its defensive nature.

"I do not know if you realize this, but you have doomed yourself Mendoza. Coming within this swarm was a mistake." The Blood Lord said simply. It was quite true from his perception, as when Mendoza stepped inside of the swarm, the mass simply closed behind him and formed a massive sphere with them at the center. "By the way, there are two." It would more than likely be difficult to tell what he had meant at first, but his meaning would likely become clear shortly. Plaga Locustarum did not produce one swarm, it produced two.

When he had rushed into the swarm to attack Zanmato, Mendoza made himself vulnerable to one of the swarms. On top of Zanmato's armoring was crawling the second swarm, being what had come between Mendoza's hands and Zanmato's armor-collar, and it would explode outward as the outer swarm would flood inward. With the outer swarm being spherical in nature and closing in, it seemed to the Blood Lord that it would be difficult to avoid. As well, the inner swarm was less than a meter away and able to move faster than what Mendoza should have been capable of. That being said, it would likely come to pass that both swarms would hit the President and infect him with their venomous payloads simultaneously.

Mendoza grinned when the second swarm was released from Zanmato. He had the bount right were he wanted him. As his fist ricocheted off his body thanks to the swarm, he pressed downward with his hand that was holding the mans collar armor gripping just the edge of it to allow the bugs beneath his hand to join the swarm. He then used the man as a stand to jump over the mans shoulder, nearly flipping completely over his left side with his hand still grasping the armor. As he came down, he closed his grip, making sure there was nothing between it and the armor now; as well as lifted this right elbow over the mans head and grasped the opposing collar armor with his other hand.

Now Mendoza was behind the bount with his arms firmly planted on the mans armor. He then extended his elbows, forcing the back of the bounts neck up against his chest. The move was called a grapple, and one that the bount did not want to be in. Mendoza leaned back as he did so, to put space between his body and the bounts, anticipating a spike or some similar form of protection. but thanks to his arms being his fullbring, no such thing would stop them. Even if the cloud around him continued to drain his energy, he would use every bit of it to keep this hold on the man. It was his only shot after all.

" No Bount, you have doomed yourself. Life Ender." Mendoza said into the ear of the man. His hands started to pulse the mans body now, sending a resonance through the bounts armor and body. It would be nearly untraceable for now, but soon it would become the mans worst nightmare.

A life would indeed be ended soon, but it would not occur precisely as the President seemed to believe it would.  As soon as he finished speaking, the Blood Lord would hopefully succeed in impaling him through the torso, specifically with two blades each aimed at a separate lung.  The attack was not coming from the Zanmato that Mendoza was holding at the moment however, as that Blood Lord would begin to suddenly dissolve underneath the man's fingers when the reiatsu pulsing began.

It would be revealed to be constructed of several dozen locusts, which began to fly outwards to join the remainder of the swarms.  How this had come about had been a relatively intricate web of techniques used simultaneously at a speed that most spiritual beings could not match.  As soon as Mendoza had grinned, Zanmato had immediately used a technique that he had not performed throughout the battle.  It was one that allowed for him to phase through non-spiritual matter, which in this case was the ground beneath his feet.  As he was doing so however, he was also causing the swarms to substitute for him, forming a unique form of Donner, the substitution technique.

Most people would have simply left a piece of cloth behind, but the Bount required Mendoza to be standing right where he was for a time and so required something more substantial than cloth.  Being that the swarms were literally less than a foot away from both combatants and could move at a similarly extreme speed to Zanmato himself, moving them enough to form his shape before Mendoza could notice would have been a relatively simple task.  With the Venenum coursing through his veins, the man's perceptions of high speed movements had been reduced to that of perhaps a relatively inexperienced Shinigami seated officer.  That coupled with the fact that the swarms and Zanmato could both move faster than masters of high speed movements to a significant degree made it so that perceiving the deception would be relatively impossible.  When Mendoza had pressed downwards, he had actually been pressing down on the same locusts which had not joined the swarm just yet.  From here, more Locusts had simply filled in as the Bount disappeared, like filling a container and emptying it simultaneously to maintain the feeling underneath those metal fingers.  From his point within the ground, Zanmato simply took a step backwards.  Still moving at his impressive speed, he would then dash upwards from within the earth.  By the time that he dashed out from within the ground, the Blood Lord was already holding onto two new weapons, both daggers roughly a foot long and of moderate width.  A perfect tool for what he intended.

Perhaps Mendoza could have perceived his presence, however when using the technique that allowed him to phase within the ground, Zanmato's spiritual pressure became literally undetectable by any means.  When coupled with the fact that the Blood Lord was literally moving faster than what Mendoza should have been able to see without aid, this made the chances of the President evading this attack exceedingly limited.  After all, the swarms were acting as a huge dampening field, as they were filled with Zanmato's reiatsu.  The fact that his had disappeared for the length of perhaps a second would have gone relatively unnoticed in an area saturated with this same energy.  The angle of his attack was one that would leave the blades pointed upwards at a slight diagonal should the blades have found their marks.  True to his attempt, the Blood Lord was remaining as silent as a grave, making no sound and certainly not speaking to his target.
