Inner World: Hyourinmaru's inner world is basked in the light of a beautiful sunset , casting a beautiful baby blue across the sky with a hint of fiery orange. Though it looks like it could be a pretty warm place , but there is a spine chilling coldness that breezes passes by , and you can usually see your breath whenever you exhale inside this world. Snow continually falls from the sky of the zanpakuto's inner world and there is a heavy blanket of snow that covers ever inch of it , making it look like a snowy wonderland. There is a large cave composed entirely of ice in the middle of the inner world , this is where hyourinmaru himself stays. When entering the inner world , the cave is usually right in front of you.

Appearance: There is not much detailed to the zanpakuto Hyourinmaru. He is very gigantic In size , easily dwarfing anybody that stands in front of him. Hyourinmaru is icy blue in color giving him the look of being completely made of ice ,which he probably is and in the form of a serpentine Chinese dragon with two large icy blue wings.

When Hyōrinmaru wants he takes the form of a tall man with an icy blue, X-shaped mark extending across his face, gray eyes, and long, teal-green hair which reaches his lower back. He wears a dark blue chestplate underneath a pale blue kimono, which is connected by two bronze, star-like clips joined by a pale green rope; the kimono also has a dark blue horizontal stripe on either sleeve, has white edges, and is bound at Hyōrinmaru's waist by a long piece of pale green cloth, which acts as a prehensile tail and is tipped with ice. He has a scarf-shaped piece of ice on his shoulders which extends around the back of his neck, and his arms and legs are completely covered in ice

Personality: After Ryuu had proven himself to the zanpakuto and obtained shikai , Hyōrinmaru acknowledges him now as master. He is very loyal to Ryuu, following his lead and usually agreeing with whatever he says , as long as it's nothing too harsh or drastic.Hyōrinmaru is very formal with Ryuu, addressing him as "master" and asking him if it would be alright to lend Ryuu his power. He has a habit of looking at the have set sun in the sky; Ryuu notes this stems from sentimentality.He has a humorous side; appearing and laughing with anyone who makes fun of ryuu about his height.

Hyourinmaru , like ryuu , has a real distaste for fighting, commonly saying it is a barbaric way to settle things. However he knows that it is needed at and will always fight along side ryuu as long as it's to protect the people he loves and the innocent. The zanpakuto likes to be straight up about the lesson , usually telling his master what he wants him to know and will only let him figure it out during times he thinks that ryuu should already know the lesson that was to be taught. If he does want to teach his master a lesson , it would usually be through a riddle of some kind , leaving ryuu to think upon want he meant. Hyourinmaru likes too appear a long side ryuu at times , often making small talk with him and trying to make them even closer.

Appearance: Hyōrinmaru looks like a normal katana with the exception of the guard, which is in the shape of a four-pointed bronze-colored star. Its hilt is light blue, and sheath dark blue. The sheath completely dissolves when ryuu draws his sword. The sword is somewhat longer than most Zanpakutō, at about 1.4 meters long.

Appearance: In its Shikai, Hyōrinmaru extends slightly in length, and gains a crescent-shaped blade attached to its hilt by a long metal chain, which can extend greatly, if necessary, by force of will. The chain itself can be used for attack, or to entangle a target.

Ability: Hyōrinmaru allows ryuu to control water and ice. His slashes create an immense amount of spiritual power which overflows from the tip of the blade, creating a flow of ice shaped like a Chinese dragon. The dragon flies towards opponents and instantly freezes anything it touches. Hyōrinmaru can create multiple ice dragons to attack an opponent from various angles. Ryuu can also direct his slashes towards the ground and form a wave of ice, which rushes over his opponents, overwhelming and freezing them. The chain-blade also freezes anything Ryuu traps with it. The power it expels is so overwhelming that in Soul Society, its mere release affects the weather within the immediate vicinity, creating a thunderstorm or blizzard. Ryuu can make up too two ice dragons before a four post cool-down is needed.

Name: Rokui Hyōketsujin (六衣氷結陣, Six-Clothed Ice Binding-Array)
Description: Ryu places five snowflake-shaped ice crystals on the ground in a pentagonal formation. When an opponent steps within the formation, each snowflake sends a line of ice towards them. The space within the pentagon is encased in a large pillar of ice, trapping the opponent.

Name: Ryōjin Hyōheki (綾陣氷壁, Woven-Ice Wall)
Description: Ryuu generates a protective wall of ice by finely weaving threads of ice together. The wall can stop attacks from Kido level 50 and under , Kido higher then 50 it can weaken but they have more of a chance to break the wall. The higher the number of the Kido goes the less it is weakened by the ice wall , usually Kido over 75+ completely penetrate the wall without being weakened.
